A Guide to Pre-Convention Events
Friday, May 30Make this your arrival date. Registration and check-in opens Friday. It is also the day for new delegate orientation and the legendary SEIU Convention Talent Show. Most importantly, however, the Division Conferences will begin the next morning and you will need to arrive Friday to participate fully.
Convention Registration Check-In: Will be held all day.
New Delegates Orientation: For those who are delegates or alternate delegates for the first time, an orientation workshop will be provided.
SEIU Talent Show and SEIU Multiplex: The SEIU Talent Show, a featured part of the Convention for many years, is a chance to relax and enjoy the talents of SEIU members, leaders, staff, family, and friends. Several movies will also be screened Friday night.
Saturday, May 31SEIU Division Conferences: Meet with other workers in your industry, celebrate our victories, and set a course of action for the next four years. Conferences will be held for Public Services, Property Services, and SEIU Healthcare.
Convention Opening Reception: A chance to gather and celebrate the opening of our 2008 Convention.
Sunday, June 1Interfaith Services: Services will be held in English and Spanish.
Retirees Conference: Reviewing the role of retirees in helping pro-worker candidates win in the 2008 elections, in fighting for healthcare reform, strengthening our union, and other important issues.
New Delegate Orientation Session: Will be held for late arrivals.
Convention Concert: Featuring internationally-known performing artists.
