2008 Convention Expense Ground Rules
SEIU Convention Delegates and Alternates
Local Union pays for travel and lodging. Local Union pays for dinner except at Convention-sponsored evening events such as the Convention concert, the Tuesday night grand festival, and opening/closing parties, where the International Union will provide food and beverages. The International will provide breakfast and lunch from Monday, June 2, through Wednesday, June 4. Delegates and alternates will also be provided with $20 each to use toward meal expenses during the Convention concert on Sunday, June 1. The International pays for Convention materials, giveaways, etc. and will provide bus transportation to outlying Convention venues.
Note: Delegates and alternates should plan to arrive no later than Friday, May 30, to ensure they are available to register, attend new delegate orientation, participate in the opening reception, and most importantly participate in early morning Division Conferences the following day. They should plan to depart no earlier than Thursday, June 5, so they can participate in closing Convention activities on Wednesday evening.
SEIU Convention GuestsApproved Convention guests will be permitted to partake of International Union-provided meals. However, they will be responsible for their own costs at all other times, including the Convention concert on Sunday, June 1. They will not be provided with $20 for a meal at the concert.
